Nakshatra Vanam is the flagship initiative of EEDHAL FOUNDATION. Based on the ancient Indian tradition that associates each of the 27 Nakshatras (birth stars) with a sacred tree, this project encourages families to plant and protect their Nakshatra tree.
The Foundation undertakes plantation, maintenance, and long-term conservation, creating a living green legacy for future generations. Trees are planted in professional sanctuaries like Megamalai (Theni) and Iritty (Kannur), where they are monitored using advanced botanical coordinates.

Green Nursery Development
To ensure the availability of healthy native tree saplings, EEDHAL FOUNDATION is developing dedicated nurseries. Cultivating native species under scientific supervision allows us to build sturdy forest layers.
These nurseries will focus on the following core activities:
- Produce high-quality native saplings: Ensuring saplings have strong root systems and are disease-free.
- Preserve traditional tree species: Protecting botanical varieties that face local extinction.
- Support Nakshatra Vanam projects: Guaranteeing a steady supply of all 27 sacred species.
- Supply saplings for environmental campaigns: Providing plants for public and academic planting drives.
